Expanded Metal Manufacturer
As an Expanded Metal Manufacturer, we produce both Flattened Metal and Unflattened Metal. Expanded Metal is made from sheets of solid metal that are slit and stretched with each stroke of the upper die, forming a raised diamond pattern. This pattern is called standard or unflattened. The pattern varies by the gauge and type of material and the size of the diamond. The sheets can also be flattened by passing the unflattened material through a series of cold reducing mill rolls.
The production of quality expanded metal requires the use of high quality raw materials and accurate expanded metal presses. At Midwest Expanded Metal we design and build our expanders. This enables us to produce a higher quality part for our customers.
The lightweight properties and open area percentages of Expanded Metal allow it to be easily formed for a variety of energy saving applications such as light diffusers, screens, grilles and filters. When you add it’s quality of strength to this list, you also make it popular for Expanded Metal Safety Grating, panel security enclosures, guards, fixtures and more.
Midwest Expanded Metal’s ability to produce Regular Expanded Metal Blanks-to-Size with bond edges allows us to provide our customers with a competitively priced, higher quality product. Additional benefits would include safer handling, and less scrap.
We look forward to the opportunity to help answer all of your Expanded Metal questions.
